A group of activists under the Torture Survivors Movement have this morning braved the rainy weather and took to the streets to demonstrate over the theft of iron sheets meant to benefit the vulnerable groups in Karamoja.
Carrying iron sheets on their heads, the activists who included some Makerere students marched on the streets of downtown Kampala towards parliament tasking the speaker, Rt. Hon. Anita Among to expedite the probe and also tender in her resignation letter having featured in the same scandal.
Cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament from Bunyoro and Chief Administrative Officers at districts were in recent weeks named in one of the biggest scandals to ever hit the Office the Prime Minister.
The Police Criminal Investigations Department, state house Anti-Corruption unit, Presidential Affairs committee of Parliament and the Inspectorate General of Government are all holding parallel Investigations into the theft of Karamoja iron sheets.
