Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition leader also presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga has continously rallied his supporters to hit the streets and levy pressure on the William Ruto government to prioritize their welfare, and mitigate the soaring costs of living.

Odinga set March 20th as the mega rally day that will see him rally scores of his supporters to state house Nairobi where he intends to “overthrow the Ruto” Government.

Ruto yesterday denounced the protests declaring them unconstitutional. He urged Raila to liaise with police over the planned demos.

He warned that the unlawful rallies might culminate into destruction of lives and property or the paralyzation of business operations in the country.

Ruto says he will not succumb to any “blackmail” by Odinga.

“We must tell my good friend Raila Odinga. You cannot. Enough is enough. You cannot continue to blackmail the country. We have no problem with you organising demonstrations but please it is your responsibility to work with the police to make sure that the rest of the citizens of Kenya…..their lives are not disrupted, their property is not destroyed,” Ruto said.

Odinga has however sustained that his plans will proceed as agreed regardless of the criticism from the Kenyan elites like PLO Lumumba who urged him to relent and use other constitutional means to express his concerns using his elected leaders at Senate and Parliamentary level. Odinga and his Deputy Martha Karua continue to freely traverse Kenyan counties ahead of anticipations of house arrest.
