Today, the president H.E Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert alias Bobi Wine will surface in Omoro district to drum up support for Daniel Okello, who is the ideal National Unity Platform party flag bearer for the Thursday by-election.
According to our insiders in the party, the president will feature in Omoro to canvass for support for Mr. Okello who is the dominating opposition candidate in the by-election of Oyam.
“We can’t tell when exactly he will show up but be informed that he is coming today,” a NUP source said. “The president’s journeys come abruptly for security reasons. You know what the regime can do as they’ve always done,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mr. Yoweri Museveni will also be in Oyam District today to campaign for Okello Engola Jr, a son to the deceased junior labour Minister Rtd. Col. Charles Okello Engola.
We’ve been informed by our ground sources that an immense deployment by military, police and SFC are the order of the day ahead of Bobi Wine’s arrival.
In all past by-elections where an intense security deployment is witnessed, electoral malpractice are capitalized on by the NRM party and the Electoral Commission to propel the regime candidates to victory even when the will of the masses says otherwise.
